Vineland Place
Video & Projection Design for Theatre
In Vineland Place, a world premiere noir thriller by Steven Dietz, young writer Henry Sanders is offered the perfect job: finishing the long-awaited final book of his hero, the novelist Fenton Brody who recently died under suspicious circumstances. Hired by Brody’s widow, Henry finds himself in the midst of a rapidly unspooling psychological game of family secrets, deconstructed texts, and cat-and-mouse deceit - and only one will make it out alive.

“Across the walls and empty art frames, Adam J. Thompson splashes the dark set with white typewriter letters wildly floating creating an ominous omen.” - Florida Theater On Stage
“Projection designer Adam J. Thompson reminds us that while this is indeed a murder mystery, writing itself remains at the center of the play. Letters occasionally stream across the set, coalescing into words and phrases — including the ominous “I know what you’ve done” — while even the ellipsis takes on unexpected significance.” - Lacunae Musing
“[The] production team elevates the material in novel ways, beginning with Adam J. Thompson’s tactical use of projected letters, each of them appearing with the clack of a typewriter key and swimming in an alphabet soup across the set.” - Boca Magazine
